Kaneka Ubiquinol Wins Prestigious Complementary Medicines Raw Material Supplier of the Year Award 2024

In an outstanding achievement, Kaneka Ubiquinol™, the global supplier of bioidentical Ubiquinol, has been awarded the Raw Material Supplier of the Year Award 2024 by Complementary Medicines Australia (CMA). This recognition, presented at the CMA Awards in Sydney on December 5, highlights Kaneka Ubiquinol’s outstanding contributions to the complementary medicines industry through innovation, scientific rigour, and unwavering commitment to quality.

This award marks Kaneka Ubiquinol’s third industry accolade in 2024, following on the Nutraingredients-Asia Healthy Ageing Ingredient of the Year 2024 Award (September) and Annual Ingredient Cardiovascular Health Award 2024 by Functional Foods for Wellness Summit (FFWS, February), reinforcing its position as a global leader in nutraceuticals.

The company’s patented Ubiquinol, renowned for its bioidentical properties derived from yeast fermentation, is a cornerstone ingredient in Australia’s leading over the counter (OTC) and practitioner brands, as well as in brands across the APAC region.

With over 100 clinical studies, 80 patents, and 45 years of research, Kaneka Ubiquinol is trusted by global health experts for its efficacy in supporting mitochondrial health, cardiovascular function, cognitive performance, women’s health, energy production, fertility, and overall healthy ageing. Its role in advancing mitochondrial health, the emerging frontier of evidence-based wellness, has driven stellar growth across pharmacy, health food stores and through healthcare practitioners, with strong consumer adoption.

Tsuyoshi Takakuwa, Head of Marketing and Sales Supplement Division APAC, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “healthcare practitioners including pharmacists, naturopaths, nutritionists, and integrative specialists play a pivotal role in prescribing Ubiquinol for energy, cognition, and as a complementary therapy alongside cholesterol management medications.”

“Their support has been integral to our success, as has the support of KOLs, industry and education associations, contract manufacturers, and retailers.”

Australia’s complementary medicine standards set the global benchmark and in turn foster a favourable environment for Kaneka Ubiquinol’s success. “This award reflects our dedication to advancing health and innovation, not just for our team but for our customers, leading brand holders, and the consumers who trust our products,” Takakuwa added.

The CMA Raw Material Supplier of the Year Award is a testament to Kaneka Ubiquinol’s leadership in mitochondrial health and its commitment to enhancing wellbeing through scientifically backed, high-quality solutions. As the company continues to lead the charge in healthy ageing, this recognition underscores its role as a trusted partner in the evolving landscape of complementary medicine.

“We extend our gratitude to Complementary Medicines Australia and the awards committee for this recognition, as well as to our partners and supporters. It is an honour to share this moment with other industry leaders who are also advancing health and innovation. Congratulations to all award winners,” Kazuki Takita, Marketing and Sales, APAC said.
