Annual Ingredient Cardiovascular Health Award at FFWS 2024 in Malaysia

Kaneka Corporation, the global leader in the scientific research and manufacture of the evidence-based potent antioxidant Ubiquinol, is thrilled to announce its prestigious win of the “Annual Ingredient Cardiovascular Health Award” at Functional Foods for Wellness Summit (FFWS 2024) Industry Awards, held in Kuala Lumpur March 2024.  

FFWS is a leading healthcare professional summit, committed to practitioner education with the FFWS Awards honouring enterprises and products in the Asia-Pacific region that demonstrate outstanding achievements or significant contributions to the areas of functional food and dietary supplements. 

The FFWS Annual Ingredient Cardiovascular Award recognises Kaneka Ubiquinol’s significant contribution to supporting cardiovascular health with over 45 years of scientific research, 90+ studies and 80+ patents supporting its rigour, innovation and excellence in precision manufacturing quality in the quest to support optimal cardiovascular health for millions across the region.

According to statistics on causes of death in Malaysia 2022 researched by the Department of Statistics Malaysia, ischaemic heart disease was the second highest cause of death in Malaysia with 13.7% after COVID-19 infection deaths.(1,2) 

In Australia in 2020, there were an estimated 56,700 acute coronary events among people aged 25 and over – equivalent to around 155 events every day. In 2021, coronary heart disease was the underlying cause of 17,300 deaths (10% of all deaths), according to Australian Institute of Health and Welfare statistics.(3) 

Multiple studies have shown that supplementing with Kaneka Ubiquinol has led to significant improvement in peripheral endothelial function in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction(4) and other cardiovascular conditions.(5)
