It’s a naturally occurring antioxidant that’s fueling your body right now – in fact, it’s powering everything you’ve done today, and will do today!

Ubiquinol is the active bio-available form of CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10), a nutrient found naturally in our body’s cells. It’s essential towards energy production and helps us maintain productive energy levels throughout stressful days and busy nights. But how much do we know about Ubiquinol and its benefits?

We’ve put together five key facts below to help you learn more about the benefits of Ubiquinol.

1) Powerful Antoxidants for Healthy Ageing
CoQ10 in the Ubiquinol form is considered to be one of the strongest lipid soluble antioxidants that provides an active defence against ageing cells[1]. Naturally, our cells can become depleted of Ubiquinol as we age, resulting in a loss of natural energy levels.  Ubiquinol may help with supporting the overall health of an ageing population well into the future.

2) Repairing over-exercising
Fatigue caused by over-exercising is a common side effect for many professional and amateur athletes. A Ubiquinol supplement may help with the natural depletion of CoQ10 due to fatigue and oxidative stress caused by over-exercising. In a study completed by The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, the effects of Ubiquinol supplementation significantly enhanced peak power production on 100 young German Athletes[2].

3) Heart Health
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a common health ailment that affects a range of Australians[3].  Understanding and minimising the risks of this disease is an important step towards maintaining a healthy heart.

Studies have suggested a link between Ubiquinol supplementation and increased ejection fraction (the amount of blood your heart pumps out with each beat).  A small 2008 study demonstrated improved ejection fraction when participants used Ubiquinol[4].

4) Helping improve male fertility
Studies have highlighted the positive effect of Ubiquinol supplementation in improving male fertility. A study published in the Journal of Urology involved 264 men who suffered from issues with their sperm quality and production. The findings showed that Ubiquinol significantly improved the sperm count in more than 62% of the men, as well the percentage of mobile sperm[5].

5) Reducing the effects of Anti-Cholesterol medication
Myalgia, or muscle pains, are a frequent side-effect for many users of Cholesterol lowering statin drugs (medication often used to lower Cholesterol). Research has shown that Ubiquinol supplementation over a six-month period can increase CoQ10 levels and significantly reduce muscle pain and sensitivity by 53.8%[6]

From improving male fertility to maintaining heart health, Ubiquinol could be an important part supplement to improve your physical and mental health.
