Keeping Your Energy Levels Up with Ubiquinol

How to Stay Motivated this Exercise Right Week (21-29th May)

It’s easy to feel tired and fatigued in today’s fast-paced world – and often our fitness takes a backseat, especially when it’s scheduled in the diary for the evening.

Read on for five simple ways to up your energy levels, naturally, all-year round:

  1. Diet

This doesn’t just mean eating healthy foods, but eating the right types of foods that are known to provide an energy-lift. These include iron-rich foods to fuel both the brain and the body (lean red meat, wholegrains, and green leafy vegetables); B-vitamins (found in salmon, eggs, and poultry); magnesium-rich foods for stress-relief (such as tofu, nuts, legumes and seeds), and complex carbs to keep energy-levels stable (opt for wholegrain oats, brown rice, quinoa and sweet potato).

  1. Supplements

Ubiquinol, the active form of CoQ10, is a powerful antioxidant that is essential for producing energy in the body, as well as supporting the health of our major organs, including the heart and liver. It plays a major role in generating our cellular energy, known as ATP, and helps to protect the body against free radical activity and oxidative stress that occurs from life’s daily pressures. CoQ10 supplements may help in increasing your energy and lowering levels of fatigue.

  1. Hydration

Drinking at least eight cups of water a day will help to hydrate the body and eliminate any unwanted toxins caused by caffeine, sugar or other additives. Hydrating with some natural coconut water can also help to provide an electrolyte boost naturally. Try to steer clear of excess caffeine and stimulants – although they may provide an energy boost initially, caffeine can also contribute to increased levels of stress, anxiety and irritability.

  1. Sleep

Eight hours of sleep is essential for good health and vitality. Lack of sleep can cause poor concentration, mood swings, weaken immune function, and lead us to wake up feeling exhausted before the day has even begun.

  1. Exercise

While it may seem like the last thing you feel like doing when tired, exercise can actually help to lift your energy levels. Exercise helps to enhance blood-flow, carrying more oxygen and nutrients to our muscles. It also releases ‘feel good’ chemicals known as endorphins, as well as the hormones adrenaline, serotonin and dopamine, which help make us happy and lift our mood, increasing our desire to want to exercise even more.
