Making the most of Ubiquinol for good health

Ubiquinol, otherwise known as Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a fat-soluble nutrient found in nearly every cell in our body. It plays many roles in our overall health. Here’s how it could help you make the most of every day.

1.It’ll keep you young

Supplementing with Ubiquinol can help protect your skin against the ageing factors of pollution, poor diet and stress. So go and get your glow on![i]

2.It’s a better form of CoQ10

Ubiquinol is the active form of CoQ10 which has been reduced to make it more readily usable by your body. It is ideal for helping your body’s cells convert energy. We also need to replace our CoQ10 levels as they reduce as we age – a daily supplement is a simple and effective way to top up your levels.

3.It supports your heart and cholesterol levels

Ubiquinol helps maintain a healthy heart and vascular system and has been shown to assist in maintaining healthy levels of LDL cholesterol. If you have a predisposition to heart disease or are taking statin medication for high LDL cholesterol levels, then speak to your doctor about Ubiquinol supplementation.

4.Assists with exercise recovery

Athletes who supplement their diet with Ubiquinol may help to reduce the depletion of the antioxidant CoQ10, and could even improve performances on the track and field.[ii] Another study found that muscle recovery was reportedly improved, and inflammation reduced after taking the supplement.[iii]

5.It supports male fertility

A double-blind, placebo controlled trial showed that Ubiquinol may help support healthy sperm.[iv] The study found that sperm density increased more than 2.5-fold with Ubiquinol compared to conventional CoQ10.
