Spotlight on Heart Health
This month marks National Men’s Health Month, which offers a great time to reflect on and prioritise your wellbeing. This year, there’s a spotlight on heart health, seeking to help you ensure your heart is healthy and well-looked after.
Keeping your heart healthy is vital to your wellbeing. With this in mind, we’ve compiled a few ways that you can help support and maintain a healthy lifestyle and heart now and well into the future.
With the feeling of being cooped up inside all day getting to our heads, exercise may be the perfect solution for improving your physical and mental health. The heart is a muscle, and like any other muscle in our body, it requires regular exercise to keep it strong. Stepping out for a break and taking a walk is a perfect way to positively change your lifestyle and keep you from feeling stressed. Gradually building up a regular routine through aerobic exercises such as walking, or jogging can work wonders for your heart.
With the kitchen only a short walk away, there’s definitely more of an opportunity to eat plenty more sugar-filled and calorie-dense snacks than we’re used to. It is important to remember that overindulging can cause havoc on your heart health. With winter fast approaching, now is the perfect time to enjoy the warmth of hearty soups and curries that are jam-packed with our favourite super-foods, herbs and spices. Broccoli, a heart-super food is a perfect addition to your meals, with herbs and spices a substitute for salt. Omega 3-rich foods such as fish and avocado support cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of heart-related issues. A healthy and balanced diet hosts several vital benefits for maintaining a healthy heart.
Supplementing with Ubiquinol
Ubiquinol is the active, reduced form of CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10) and a naturally occurring antioxidant found in our bodies. Supplementing with Ubiquinol may be the key to maintaining a happy and healthy heart and wellbeing. It may aid in the production of energy and support of cardiovascular and immune health in our bodies. As we age, our bodies naturally produce less Ubiquinol, so supplementation may be a great option in fighting oxidative stress and maintaining overall health and wellbeing. Studies have shown that Ubiquinol can strengthen the heart and support those with cardiovascular problems by decreasing blood pressure and reducing heart rate.
Always read the label. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist, consult your healthcare practitioner.
